Preservation approach: DOCX sources are edited inside their original ZIP/XML package; Excel sources are changed cell-by-cell and written back as workbooks; PDF sources are rendered and redacted into page images so masked source text is not retained as extractable PDF text. For Word sources, PDF export now renders the masked DOCX and automatically detects whether the browser produced true pages or one continuous section. Continuous output is automatically paginated into standard A4 PDF pages, while preserving the rendered Word layout. Browser rendering can still differ slightly from Microsoft Word for uncommon fonts or advanced Word-only features.
